The initiative, aimed at families but also atschools, presents a series of activities designed to introduce children to the world of contemporary arts. The philosophy behind the project is edutainment, which aims to educate children and young people, and at the same time, to entertain them.
The event is for families and schools, it takes place during the weeks before and after the Christmas holidays and consists of a series of activities organized to introduce children to the world of contemporary arts. The philosophy is that of edutainment, which is directed at educating children and teenagers while entertaining them at the same time. In this case, the entertainment involves the whole family with activities that involve all ages and promote dialogue between generations.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Festival catalogue will be donated to the Children's Hospital Bambino Gesù. The proceeds from the sale of the collected works by artists involved with "Arte in 12 mosse" will be donated too. "Arte in 12 mosse" is a "challenge" among some of the artists exhibiting their works and emerging painters; they have to create works in only twelve moves, as in a chess game.
The Festival C'era una volta… is curated by Valeria Arnaldi (Assessorato alle Politiche culturali e Centro Storico di Roma Capitale).
